Wednesday night, I looked out to the east and west at 9:30. There was not a plane in the air. I felt safe but still unsettled.

I looked to the south and the Hancock building was lighted in red, white and blue. I felt a silent calm that things will be right again and we will be a better nation with more human kindness because of our loss of innocence.
