A 12-year-old Bartlett boy stopped a 35-year-old man from sexually attacking him when he struck the man on the head with a cooking pot and fled the man’s apartment, police said Friday.

Henri Khodabakhsh of the 500 block of Deere Park Circle, Bartlett, was charged with kidnapping, criminal sexual abuse and unlawful restraint.

Bartlett police said that the boy had been out selling magazine subscriptions and knocked on Khodabakhsh’s apartment door about 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

They said Khodabakhsh handed the boy money for a subscription and then pulled him into the apartment and locked the door.

Khodabakhsh allegedly began taking off his clothes and tried to take off the boy’s, then began making sexual advances toward him.

Police said the boy broke away and ran into the kitchen, where he grabbed a large pot on the counter and struck Khodabakhsh on the head when he entered the room.

The blow stunned Khodabakhsh, police said, and the youth then threatened the man with a knife he had taken from the kitchen.

Police said the boy fled to his home, where he reported the incident to his parents.

Khodabakhsh received stitches in St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates for the blow to his head, police said.

Khodabakhsh was being held in Cook County Jail late Friday after he was unable to post 10 percent of a $100,000 bond. His next court date is set for Sept. 28.
