James Emerson Hicks, 77, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2001. Mr. Hicks was a retired teacher. He worked for the Board of Education and City Colleges. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. Mr. Hicks was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He is survived by his dear wife, Anna Jordan; three loving sons, James Jr. and Gerald from his first marriage to Dorothy Doty and Charles from his second marriage to Anna Jordan. Arrangements entrusted to Cage Memorial Chapel, 7651 S. Jeffery Blvd. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 18, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Cage Memorial Chapel. The Memorial Service will be on September 19, 10:30 a.m., St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 18850 Reigel Road, Homewood. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery located at 27034 S. Diagonal Rd., in Elwood, IL.
