Leonard “Benny” Benefico, 90, formerly of Chicago, died on Friday, September 14, 2001, at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Health Services. He was born July 4, 1911, in Connecticut. He married the former Helen Lillienthol of Chicago, who died in 1970. A retired personnel manager of the Chicago Checker Taxi Company and had been making his home at Zephyrhills, FL and Lake Mills, WI. Survivors include a special friend, Helen Arndt; three children, Michael (Nadine) of Mt. Charleston, NV, Carolee Morrison of New York City, NY, and Leonard (Kathleen) of Chicago; six grandchildren including Alison, Vanessa and Lauren of Chicago; five great-grandchildren; two brothers. A Celebration of Life will be held in Lake Mills at his home.
