Perhaps the time has finally come for the federalization of the airport security systems throughout our country. Yes, the additional costs will be passed on to the flying public–but the price is well worth the enhanced services.

Our U.S.-based airlines should be totally ashamed for having passed off this important function to contractors who hired and placed in our nation’s airports personnel who were ill-trained and poorly paid for their jobs. At this point I suspect the airlines would welcome our government taking over airport security. They could then deny any responsibility in the event of an incident.
