Donald John Reda, age 75, at rest September 16, 2001, 49 year resident of Berwyn. Beloved husband of the late Ruth, nee Wilson; loving father of Richard, Marianne (Tom) Crowe, Angela (Steve) Sims and Robert (Audrey); devoted grandfather of seven; dear brother of Louise Lindemann and Virginia (Talac); uncle of one niece and many nephews. Mr. Reda was born February 2, 1926 in Chicago. He attended Morton High School in Cicero graduating in January, 1944. In February, 1944 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served at the Naval Air Station in Key West, FL as an electrician technician. After WW II, he studied at Drake University in Iowa where he earned a degree in business administration and met his wife, Ruth Wilson. In 1950 he went to work for Victor Manufacturing & Gasket Co. as a Cost Accounting Clerk. He advanced to various accounting positions and in 1968 became Controller. In 1970, when Dana Corp. bought out Victor Manufacturing he was named Division Controller. In 1973 he was promoted to plant manager and served in that capacity until retirement after 35 years of service. He was past president of the Chicago Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. He loved fishing, reading, dancing and financial investing. Funeral Thursday, 9:15 a.m. from Cappetta Funeral Home, 5858 W. Roosevelt Road to St. Mary of Celle Church, Berwyn. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Entombment All Saints Mausoleum.
