Edward “Ed” Blasiola, 52, of Rockford, died at 11:25 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2001, in Madison, WI, following a courageous battle against melanoma. He is survived by his wife, Janice of Rockford; children, Jason of Milwaukee, Angela of Rockford and Stacy of Milwaukee. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Friday, September 21, 2001 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr., Rockford. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2001 at Fred C. Olson Funeral Chapels, Ltd., North Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church on Friday. Memorials may be to the family for a memorial to be established at Hospice Care, Inc., Madison, WI.
