Barbara J. Karpus, 41, Kenosha, Sept. 20, 2001 following a seven year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Raised in Oak Lawn, attended St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Grade School, Richard High School (1978) and Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Heights, receiving an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1984. Worked as a R.N. from 1985 to 1994 at Victory Hospital in Waukegan, primarily in obstetrical care. Survived by husband, Robert; daughters, Christine “Chrissi” and Amanda “Mandy”; mother, Francis Tyzenhaus of Lakeland, FL; and sister, Joan (Greg) Klein-Kane of Lakeland, FL; predeceased by father, Steven. Funeral Mass Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, 10 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2020 91st St., Kenosha. Private interment. Visitation Sunday, Sept. 23, 5 to 8 p.m., with Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., at Bruch Funeral Home, 3503 Roosevelt Rd., Kenosha.
