Bert H. Anderson, September 19, age 73, late of Grant Park, IL, formerly of Oak Park until 1976 and Streeterville until 1995, beloved husband of Lou, nee Berry; dear father of five children; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Born December 2, 1927, in Chicago, IL. Attended Kenyon College 1945-46. Served in the U.S. Army (1946-47) in Tokyo, Japan, in MacArthur’s Headquarters. Owned the oldest house in Oak Park at 241 Home Ave. until 1975. Began insurance agency in 1950 and sold it in 1983 to R.N. Crawford & Co. Began Alpha Trust in 1970, the first Illinois Multi-Employer Group Insurance Trust. Began Midwest Industrial League in 1975, an insurance buying Coop for 48 manufacturers and contractors. Operated as free-lance risk manager from 1988. Volunteered (1994) as Associate Director for Chicago District Golf Assn., rating courses and officiating tournaments. Memorial Service on Friday, September 28, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., at the “NEW CHAPEL” in Woodlawn Cemetery at 7600 W. Cermak Rd. in Forest Park, IL (22nd St.).
