Watching Don Baylor, Andy MacPhail’s latest manager out of central casting, I can’t help but be reminded of the basketball coach who saves all his timeouts, but loses the game. Baylor doesn’t seem to care about winning games, just about saving his bullpen.
For what I can’t imagine; maybe for the off-season to which they seem headed as soon possible under Baylor’s inexplicable moves, so that they can be rested to appear on cruises and at fan conventions.
