Walter L. Seeger, 92 years, of DeMotte, IN died Sept. 21, 2001 at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso, IN. He was born July 25, 1909 in Minnesota to Louis and Pauline Seeger. On July 1, 1950 he married Juanita, nee Pelling, in Oak Park, IL, who survives him. He was a purchasing agent for Bell & Thorne, Chicago, IL and retired after 28 years of service with the company. Member of Illinois National Guard and member of Faith Lutheran Church, DeMotte, IN. Survivors include a son, Richard (Edith) Seeger of DeMotte, IN and daughter, Barbara (Charles) Kansler of Homer Township, IL; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kevin and Courtney Kansler. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Louise and Pauline Seeger; and one brother and one sister. Funeral service Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, 10:30 a.m. at Jackson Funeral Service, 200 Third St. S.W., (behind DeMotte State Bank) DeMotte, IN. Pastor Jared Raebel officiating. Interment Faith Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Choir Fund or Multiple Sclerosis.
