Brent L. Smith, 45, of Chandler, AZ, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001. Formerly of Melrose Park, IL he moved to Arizona in 1977. Brent was a printing consultant, author and an advocate for dialysis. He is survived by his mother, Margaret M. Hanford; sister, Brenda L. Seglem; brother, Brian E. (Kathy S.) Smith; uncle, Jerome Rappaport; nieces and nephews, Jason, Daniel, Brandon, Deanna, Daniel and Kailee; and many treasured friends. He was preceded in death by his two fathers, Edward J. Smith Jr. and Norman G. Hanford; grandparents, Irving and Evelyn Rappaport; and nephew, Bradley. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd., Mesa, AZ. A visitation will be held 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park. A service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at St. John Vianney Church, 46 N. Wolf Rd., Northlake.
