Green Bay’s Ahman Green, the NFL’s leading rusher, insists he isn’t Superman. In fact, he’d prefer to be called “Batman.”

The Caped Crusader is tattooed on Green’s left calf. And Green’s not only a fan of the big-screen bat, but of the campy television series of the 1960s.

“I used to watch Adam West in the morning with the wild `Splat’ across the screen,” Green said.

When he was in Little League, Green asked his barber to shave the Batman symbol into the back of his head.

“From then on, I did it every week before every game,” Green said. “Guys on my team, parents and friends that came to the game just called me Batman from then on.”

Caps in the mail

One week after baseball resumed play following a six-day shutdown in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the Expos finally received their shipment of caps bearing the American flag.
