Ike A. Mayeda, 71, was killed in an auto accident in Kansas on Sept. 18, 2001, as he and his wife, Jane, were returning from a Colorado vacation. He is missed by his loving daughter, Sandra; nieces, Mary Shimizu and Sharon Shimizu; sister-in-law, Masako Shimizu; cousin by marriage, Linda Baba. He also leaves the members of the Baba, Kamachi and Nakata families in California, as well as the Tsujl and Shimizu families in Japan. Ike served in the Korean War and was formerly employed as a business administrator in medical associations. Since he retired, he enjoyed his volunteer time and the friends he made at the Chicago Cultural Center. As Ike wished, private family services were held on Sept. 25, 2001 at Lakeview Funeral Home, Chicago.
