This is regarding Steve Chapman’s “Patriotism in time of war” (Commentary, Sept. 23). He refers to demonstrators urging restraint and adherence to international law as “morons.” This is hardly the way to encourage the unity that Mr. Chapman claims to desire in these trying times.
Peace activists may not have anything to say that he finds persuasive, but many of the rest of us fervently hope that our nation blends wisdom and tolerance into a lawful pursuit of justice.
None of us likes our beliefs slandered casually.
