Joan Triplett, passed away on Sunday, September 23, due to Leukemia, she was 75. Joan was the daughter of John Sanford Triplett and Erna Goldstein Triplett. John Triplett was a well-known vaudeville performer and a circus clown with Ringling Bros. Circus, where he and his wife met. Joan was born and raised in Chicago, and subsequently was a long-time resident of Dolton, IL, with her family. Joan graduated from Hyde Park High School in Chicago, and later from the Chicago College of Commerce as a court reporter. She worked for ABC Television Network in Chicago, as an executive secretary, and later as a court reporter working free-lance in Chicago and Las Vegas. She moved to Boulder in 1990. Joan was a warm, generous and witty individual with many friends who felt enriched by knowing her. She had many interests: she was a skilled handicrafter, an antiquer and a dedicated animal lover. She was active in Chicago and Illinois politics for many years. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eileen Triplett Stanford; and a brother John Robert Triplett. She is survived by her sister, Naomi of Boulder; and a nephew Francis (Sandi) Stanford of San Antonio, TX. A Memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
