Having suffered such horrific tragedy as a nation and as a people before the eyes of the world, the U.S. now has the opportunity to again lead globally by example, not only showing its might, unity and resolve, but also tempering those attributes with irrefutable patience, deliberation and ingenuity.

The other critical challenge the U.S. faces is the war of ideology. This “war,” for the hearts and minds, can only be won through public relations and by increasing America’s efforts to honestly confront existing domestic and global inequities, both economic and social. These inequities allow for such extreme fanatic terrorism to find future fertile soil.
