I urge Congress and the Federal Aviation Administration to allow full-time sworn police officers the right to carry their firearms in the gated areas of any American airport and also on board a plane while traveling. We are professional and highly trained already, so why not tap into this resource? It would not cost the taxpayer a single dime and would enhance security at the airport and on board many flights.
Maybe an off-duty police officer could have been on board one of those doomed flights with his firearm and saved a lot of innocent lives that day.
