When was it proven that there are no atheists in foxholes (“Turning to prayer,” Voice of the people, Sept. 23)? If people are able to find peace and consolation in the belief that there is no God, why should they be ridiculed? And if these people go to their deaths having lived good lives of kindness and tolerance, have they not made more positive contributions than some of the world’s religious leaders?
