Marda Dunsky’s Perspective piece reflects a profound naivete regarding Islamic fundamentalism that is dangerous in light of the recent attacks.

Her statement “The terror attacks on the U.S. may breathe life into [Mideast] negotiations” is an affront to the memory of those we have lost.

She further suggests that we withdraw U.S. troops from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and cease bombing Iraq in order to appease those who would wage terror. Such actions would simply proclaim to our enemies that terrorism works.

It is naive to think that the goal of fundamentalists is peace and that they can be placated with misguided concessions to that effect.
