– General Motors is recalling 1996 Chevrolet Blazers, GMC Jimmy and Oldsmobile Bravada sport-utility vehicles in cold-weather states. Ball joints on the SUVs can corrode, which can cause the steering to fail and the front suspension to collapse. The recall affects 49,000 vehicles in states that use road salt, including Illinois.
– Dodge is recalling about 2000 and 2001 Dakota Quad Cab pickups because bolts on the driver and passenger seat belts can loosen, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. About 106,000 vehicles are affected.
