Phil Rogers indicates in his Oct. 14 column that pitchers should really be the ones getting the MVP awards. While he may have been writing a little “tongue in cheek,” he says there should be a Babe Ruth Award for the most prolific hitter, and baseball should do away with the Cy Young.
Why not have both, plus the MVP award? That way, there may be a little more equitable consideration for pitchers and hitters in determining the MVP.
