Going back as far as World War II, I have never seen so much red, white and blue displayed as I’ve seen as a result of the Sept. 11 attacks. This strong show of patriotism is great. But comparing it to the paltry number of eligible voters who actually vote, it says: much showiness, no substance; much pretentiousness, no responsibility.
