Owen D. Windall, 83, of Naperville, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, beloved husband of Beatrice, nee Nelson, for 50 years; loving father of Dave (Kathy) of Rolling Meadows and Tom (Kim) of Davis, CA; proud grandfather of Brittany, Katie, Sarah, Michael and Tyler; dear brother of Bob (Evelyn); kind brother-in-law of Marilyn (Clarence) Leverenze and Roger (Donna) Nelson; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Owen was born in Park Falls, WI in 1917. He left Northern Wisconsin to serve his country as a Naval Aviator during WWII. During the War, he flew PBY’s over the North Atlantic and B-24’s out of Southern England. Upon his finishing his service to his country, Owen began a career with United Airlines and flew for over 28 years. During those years, he captained the DC-3, DC-6, Caravelle and the DC-8 aircraft. His love of flying came second to his love of family. Grandpa “O” is glad to be Home.
