I was both angered and amused by the quotes from liberal priests regarding the leadership of Cardinal Francis George in the Nov. 11 front-page story.
George is certainly not authoritarian.
Yet these dissident priests, who comprise what I call the “good ol’ boy network,” just can’t handle the fact that George is doing what he is supposed to be doing–teaching authentic Catholicism.
It is time for George’s clerical critics to stop whining and misrepresenting the teachings of Vatican II.
Instead, they should be helping to build a culture of life and a civilization of love.
