Corky Siegel opened for Bob Hope and George Carlin. He has performed with Janis Joplin and the Boston Pops. And he was a featured soloist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
Saturday night, the harmonica virtuoso and his Chamber Blues will perform at Harper College in Palatine.
Siegel will combine his 10-hole blues harmonica with a classical string quartet and a percussionist playing an East Indian tabla to create an exotic sound.
Siegel, 58, of Chicago has been playing the harmonica for 37 years.
He won a Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Award for his chamber music compositions in 1995 and has been featured in both Rolling Stone and Billboard magazines.
Tickets are $15. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in Room J-143, the theater inside the Business and Social Science Center.
Harper College is located northeast of Roselle and Algonquin Roads. Call 847-925-6100.
