Thanks for pointing out in the Nov. 9 editorial the political, economic and humane necessity for the U.S. to make friends rather than enemies in the world, especially the Middle East.
In the face of absolute failure after 50 years of trying, Israel persists in using the “whack-back” technique–you hit me; I hit you harder.
Of course Ireland has used, futilely, the same technique for more than 100 years. Fortunately there appears to be a dawning recognition of the technique’s failure in Ireland.
We must support Israel as a country; we cannot afford to continue to support its use of this technique–just as we may dearly love a child but cannot support his use of drugs.
