Kudos to Paul Salopek for the words and Pete Souza for the stunning photos of “Trek through Afghanistan’s mountains; Rebel supply line a merciless trail” (Page 1, Nov. 8). They conveyed a sense of the difficulties of winter in northern Afghanistan, and the beauty. I hope that we can share some of our wealth with the 7 million in danger of starving this winter, war or no war.
