United Airlines thinking of arming its pilots with stun guns is a terrible idea. There’s a dramatic illustration in the Nov. 16 Tribune of a pilot shooting the darts into a man carrying a tire iron.
Yeah, sure, just about anyone with a bag of knives can get on a plane in O’Hare, but a tire iron? Even the security workers at United would spot that!
It would have made a lot more sense if the dangerous man was carrying the gun he had swiped from a dozing sky marshal.
Maybe it would be better if all passengers were rendered unconscious before takeoff.
