It seems the subject of the safari article, Barrington Hills banker Tom Fitzgerald, and I are quite alike. Like him, I like to “share special moments” with my son and “replicate the experiences” my dad gave to me.
Unlike the Fitzgeralds, our bonding includes playing catch in the back yard, helping coach his Little League team and attending his swimming meets instead of killing animals with high-powered rifles from the safety of a leopard blind. (It was really neat to learn that this heroic feat set the safari’s gun-bearers into a toilet-paper-decorating frenzy, “almost like a frat prank.”) And our bonding doesn’t even cost $35,700 (base price).
It also doesn’t rate a front-page sports section article with color photo. This is sports?
