Lance Armstrong will change strategy and ride in several World Cup races in Europe leading to the 2002 Tour de France.
The three-time champ plans to ride in the Milan-San Remo race and the Tour of Flanders, U.S. Postal Service team spokesman Dan Osipow said.
Armstrong also is considering Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

Hockey: Defenseman Dallas Eakins scored the go-ahead goal in the second period and goalie Norm Maracle had 22 saves as the visiting Wolves defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins 3-1.
Olympics: Triathlon could be dropped as an Olympic sport after just one appearance unless it sorts out its political problems, IOC officials said.
Soccer: Past champions Brazil, Italy, Argentina and Germany were given seedings for Saturday’s World Cup draw, while England was not.
Swimming: Natalie Coughlin set a world record of 57.08 seconds in the 100-meter backstroke and an American mark of 25.83 in the 50 butterfly in the World Cup at East Meadow, N.Y.
