A recent visit to Chicago has me puzzled regarding your gas prices. I travel around the country and your city almost always has the most expensive fuel. For example, my hometown of Atlanta has recently been charging no more than about 84 cents a gallon for regular unleaded at in-town stations, while Chicago typically charges more than $1.30 a gallon. I understand a difference in taxes and possibly clean-fuel requirements, but close to 50 cents? Sounds like gouging to me, either by the stations or by the local government. Just one more reason why I’m glad I live in the South.
