Raymond Slater, age 92, of South Holland, formerly of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, beloved husband of Helen, nee Dykstra; loving father of Virginia (Walter) Wessel; dear grandfather of David (Becky) DeBoer, Rebecca (Jonathan) Woodnorth, Christopher Wessel and Shannon Wessel; dearest great-grandfather of seven. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. from the SchroederLauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing. Interment Oakridge Cemetery, Lansing. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Mr. Slater was retired from Continental Bank after 47 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Reformed Church in Orland Park.
