Scott Sharp isn’t racing in the Daytona 500–or any other Winston Cup event, for that matter–yet he will be about as busy as any other driver in February.
The 1996 IRL co-champion at Daytona will drive in the 24 Hours of Daytona on Feb. 2-3 and in the first event of the 2002 IROC series on Feb. 15.
In the 24-hour race, Sharp will drive a Riley & Scott Mk, with Guy Smith and team owner Jim Matthews sharing seat time with Sharp. A fourth driver has yet to be selected.
“I’m very excited to get a chance to win at Daytona again,” Sharp said.
