Event: John Robert Wiltgen Design’s holiday party, in Chicago. Guest of honor: Actress Jane Seymour, a trained painter whose works have been shown at the Guggenheim. Display tactics: In a vacant duplex, Wiltgen’s team mounted 85 pieces of Seymour’s watercolors, oils and pastels shipped in from galleries around the U.S. Sold: Fourteen pieces, the most expensive, a still-life for $38,000. Guest what? Each person was asked to bring a gift for a child at the Ronald McDonald House, equaling two vans of gifts from 300 guests. Famished: At 11:30 p.m., a starving Wiltgen, Seymour and party dined at Redlight, which stayed open to accommodate the late-nighters. Nice touch.
