Event: The Society of Urban Philanthropic Professionals’ second annual MS Holiday Formal, at the Terra Museum of Art, Chicago. About the group: The 1-year-old organization is dedicated to partnering with charities and raising funds for good causes. The genesis: A couple of buddies were diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Friends, who wanted to help them and raise money to fight the disease, gave a benefit for them. That success led to the formation of the organization and other fundraising ventures close to the hearts of the members, who are generally in their 20s and 30s. Success in numbers: 100 people raised more than $14,000.
