Michael C. Downes, formerly of Joliet and Naperville, late of Cary, IL, missing since Nov. 23, 2001 and found Jan. 26, 2002, age 22 years, loving son of Linda (Fred) Harms; brother of Andrea L. Downes; uncle of Victoria and Blake; stepson of Sandy Bailey Downes; godchild of Ruth Sharkey; grandson of Rose Downes; also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; preceded in death by his father, Gene T. Downes and his grandparents, Marion and Charles Mills. Born in Joliet on Dec. 30, 1978. Attended grade school in Darien, Waubonsie High School in the Naperville area and DeLaSalle High School in Chicago. Worked with Fransican Brothers at San Miguel Center in Chicago. Michael was planning to join the Navy in February, 2002. Memorial Services will be held Friday, Feb. 1 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1310 Shepherd Dr., Naperville at 4 p.m., with Pastor Greg Wenhold and Brother Ed from San Miguel.
