John E. Mack, 80, of Sun City, Huntley, formerly of Barrington, at rest February 2, 2002. Beloved husband of Mary Ellen, nee McLachlan; cherished father of Kathleen Priester, John E. III (Laurie), Nancy (William) Roxworthy, Janice (Jeff) Martin, Thomas (Patricia), Timothy (Mary); proud grandfather of 16; great-grandfather of five; dear brother of Evelyn Rundblad and the late Elmer and Howard Mack. Mr. Mack was a decorated WWII Navy Vet. serving on the U.S.S. Welles. This destroyer battle group won 12 Battle Stars throughout the Pacific Theatre. He was a successful business entrepreneur beginning with Mack Bros. on Chicago Ave. in Chicago, developing the Toy Shoppers Service, headquartered in Chicago with outlets in several other major cities, and Decor Glow of Barrington. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 13707 Dundee Rd., Huntley. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Huntley. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the James A. O’Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley.
