Rev. Benno Korbic, O.F.M., born in Slovenia, ordained to the Priesthood on July 7, 1940, confined to the Dachau Concentration Camp during World War II. Fr. Benno’s assignments included St. Stephen’s in Chicago, and various other cities in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. He also was Guardian of St. Mary’s Friary, Lemont and was manager of the Ave Maria Magazine for several years. Survived by numerous relatives in Europe. Lying in state Wednesday, 12 Noon to 7 p.m., at the Chapel of St. Mary’s Friary, 14246 Main St., Lemont. Funeral Mass Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, 11 a.m. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Lemont. For info.
