Ella L. Marx, loving mother of Jim Marx, Nancy (Tom) Shanley and Judy Marx; proud grandmother of Jennifer and Ryan Shanley; dear sister of Betty (late John) May and Richard (Irene) Lichtenstadter. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, December 28th 1921. She began to perform Piano at age 5. She began teaching at age 13. She received her Masters Degree from DePaul University, Chicago, were she was also on staff of the Piano faculty. She worked for Karnes Music for 24 years as a Piano Teacher and as a music buyer in the Des Plaines Store. She was a long time organist and choir director of Holy Trinity Church, Skokie, and 10 years at St. Anselm’s Church in Park Ridge. She was a member of the Des Plaines Senior Center. Funeral services will begin Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines, continuing with a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Martin Episcopal Church, Des Plaines. Interment Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst. Visitation Tuesday, 3 to 9 p.m. at funeral home. Please omit flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association or St. Martin’s Church appreciated.
