Maurice E. Dunne, 74, of Arlington Heights, was the retired regional manager for the Irish Tourist Board in Chicago. “He was very proud to be Irish,” said his wife of 41 years, Betty. “His personality suited him so well so that even when he was off the job, he was promoting Ireland as well.” Mr. Dunne died of complications from Parkinson’s disease Saturday, Feb. 2, in Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. Born in Dublin, Mr. Dunne moved in 1957 to New York City, where he worked for the Irish Tourist Board. He was transferred to Chicago in 1970 and was responsible for the Midwest region. He retired in 1986. He was past president of the Chicago Chapter of Skal International. Mr. Dunne is also survived by two daughters, Jennifer Smith and Clodagh McCall, and two grandchildren. Prayers will be said at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 432 E. Park St., Arlington Heights.
