I was so relieved to hear that the Illinois Senate is considering making it a misdemeanor to use a state university symbol without express permission (“State out to guard mascots,” Metro, Jan 31.)
I, and undoubtedly thousands of other state residents, have lost countless nights of sleep tormented by thoughts of depraved Chief Illiniwek exploiters lurking in the shadows, threatening the fabric of our society. Go get those evildoers, legislators!
