John R. Schroeder, age 86, of Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret. Surviving are his son, William Schroeder of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Janene (Jeffrey) Steed of North Olmstead, OH; sister, Barbara Tandarich of Oak Park, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Schroeder was a veteran of WWII. In keeping with Mr. Schroeder’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a Memorial Service at a later date. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. N.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
