Fine Woodworking magazine has crafted a new publication.
The magazine has added a special issue called Tools & Shops to its usual six issues per year. Tools & Shops is intended to help woodworkers improve their work spaces and find the tools that best meet their needs.
Among the articles are suggestions for maximizing a small home workshop by putting machines and tables on wheels, a review of nine models of 14-inch band saws, one writer’s opinion about the five most important machines in a shop, and even a guide to outfitting an apron to keep tools within reach.
The issue also introduces two features: “Cutoffs,” designed to help woodworkers make the most of waste, and “Shop Design,” which offers specifics on building a detached shop.
Tools & Shops has been mailed to subscribers at no cost. The newsstand price is $6.95. The magazine is available at supermarkets and at Home Depot, Lowe’s and Barnes & Noble.
