Lt. Col. Richard Ily Smith, U.S.A.F. retired, passed away at his home Feb. 5, 2002, age 62, native of Chicago, beloved husband of Juanita Smith; loving and caring father of one daughter, Leticia Vaquero and four sons, Mario, Luis, Carlos and Andre; grandfather of three; also survived by his father, Rush Smith. Rosary Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, 7 p.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 10497 Coloma Road, Rancho Cordova. Funeral Mass Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, 9 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
