Please explain to me how state grants for rehabilitation centers for the developmentally disabled, health care for AIDS sufferers, and museums and dance centers are considered “pork” spending. This is a bit of a stretch, don’t you think?

The state legislators mentioned in your “secretive pork” article should be commended for their support of these programs, not scorned.

The Tribune does a grave disservice to the people and agencies dedicated to working with the poor, the disabled and the arts.

Your article suggests that gifts and grants for these causes should be questioned. Should we abolish charitable giving altogether?
