Had your fill of the concrete “Jersey barriers” that have been ringing Chicago skyscrapers and plazas since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks? The federal government has. It has asked a team of designers to gather in Chicago Tuesday to dream up what the Federal Plaza should look like in the post-Sept. 11 era.
Not content to hear what those experts say, Chicago architect Peter Exley offered the Tribune his own whimsical set of suggestions for what to do with the barriers.
