James Berry Jr., age 76, Feb. 10, 2002, a resident of Plainfield since 1996, formerly of Chicago. A Bridge Tender for the city of Chicago, retiring in 1973 after 43 years of service. Secretary of the Cog Hill Golf Club Association for the past 34 years. Veteran of WWII serving U.S. Air Force 1943 to 1946. Member of the Brookfield Moose. Survived by his wife Norma Berry; uncle of four nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine Berry; two brothers, Peter Hogberg, John Berry; also two sisters, Margaret Berry and Mary Lloyd. Visitation Wednesday 3 to 9 p.m. at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Drive, in Romeoville. Funeral Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Andrew Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Services conclude at the church. 815-886-2323.
