Charles E. Bradley, 89, Lt. U.S. Navy WWII, fought at the Battle of Leyte Gulf, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, a graduate of Lewis Institute of Technology (now IIT), where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. After the War he worked as an Engineering Dept. Chief at Western Electric’s Hawthorne Works in Cicero, a 45 year resident of Downers Grove, he is preceded in death by his wife, Julia Bradley, nee Williams; survived by his daughters, Judy (William) Everson and Mary Jane (Lee) Bradley-Smith; grandfather of Michael and Beth Everson and Steven Bradley Smith. Visitation Thursday 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Friday 9:30 a.m. from Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St., Downers Grove (1blk S. of Ogden), to St. Joseph Church.
