Homer Manfredi, R.Ph., age 75, a kind, humble and selfless man, entered eternal life on Feb. 9, 2002. Homer was the founder and owner of Manfredi Drugs in Cicero and Guardian Pharmacy in Chicago. He served for 30 years as the director of the Professional Building Pharmacy at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital-Medical Center and vice-president of Arc Ventures at RUSH. Homer loved people and he especially loved being able to help them through his practice of pharmacy for almost 50 years. There was never a greater or more dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, colleague and friend. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Martha; and his devoted and proud children, Michael, Bobbi (Tom Hurley, M.D.) and Mark; and his adored and adoring “kids” Megan and Matthew Manfredi-Hurley. He is also survived by his brothers, Harold Manfredi, M.D. (the late and beloved Marion) and Roland Manfredi, M.D. (Helen); and his sister, Gloria (John, M.D.) Budicin. Homer will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a cherished friend to many. He will always live in our hearts and his memory will be eternal to us all. Private interment took place Feb. 12, 2002 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Homer’s life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Mater Christi Church, 2401 S. 10th Ave., North Riverside, IL.
